French soccer superstar Kylian Mbappé sustained a nose injury during France's 1-0 victory over Austria on Monday night.
In the 88th minute of the match, Mbappé's face collided with the shoulder of Austria's Danso during a free kick play, resulting in blood from his nose.
Mbappé was taken to Düsseldorf hospital where a fracture was confirmed.
Following the confirmation of the injury, the French Football Federation (FFF) released a statement regarding the player's condition. "He has returned to the base camp of the French team," the FFF said. "He will undergo treatment in the coming days, without undergoing surgery immediately."
The player's medical team will closely monitor his recovery process, and further updates will be provided as necessary.
The 25-year-old may be absent from France's important fixture against the Netherlands on Friday, June 21, due to this injury.
This injury comes as a significant setback for France as they continue their quest for European glory.
