It was a battle of first vs second for a potential title decider in the Women’s Super League and ZESCO were ahead inside 23 minutes courtesy of an Avell Chitundu goal but Buffaloes striker Agness Phiri levelled matters from a freekick nine minutes later.
The draw-maintained Buffaloes at the top of the table to 65 points, same number of points with ZESCO but the defending champions have a healthy goal difference of five goals.
At Indeni Sports Complex, third-placed Indeni Roses annihilated Kabwe Celtic Queens 9-0 with striker Noria Sosala producing a hat-trick with a goal each from Esther Mukwasa, Thelma Phiri, Natasha Kampombo, Grace Mulaisho, Rhodah Chileshe (P) and Sibongile Banda.
In Lusaka, Regina Chanda helped ZANACO Ladies move to fourth place after scoring a hat-trick in the 3-2 win over ZISD Women at Independence stadium. Lungowe Namasiku scored a brace for the ‘Kwapu nation’ but Chanda’s goal at the death ensured all three points for the Bankers.
