NPFL: Katsina United beat Enugu Rangers in dramatic seven-goal thriller

Katsina United on Sunday defeated Nigeria League Giants Rangers International in a dramatic seven-goal thriller at the Muhammad Dikko Stadium, Katsina in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 29.

Azeez Falolu open scoring for the host just five minutes into the first half with a superb finish, but the visitors got an equaliser five minutes later via Isaac Saviour. The game becomes intense as both sides battle to get the lead, but it was Katsina United that took the lead in the 17th minute following Michael Okoro breakthrough, but Godwin Obaje got another superb equaliser for the visitors one minute later.

Before halftime Michael Okoro Ibe restored the lead for the host to take the scoreline to 3-2 and to end the first half of the thrilling encounter, where he has recorded a brace.

In the second half, Andrew Idoko got the host to a superb start with a brilliant finish in the 50th minute making the game more difficult for the Fidelis Ilechukwu led side. 

Joel Odoh got Rangers' third goal in the 81st minute but was not enough to turn the game around for the NPFL Giants. It was a tough encounter but Katsina United were the better side at the end of the game with a 4-3 win.

After the defeat for Enugu Rangers, they maintained their lead at the top of the NPFL Log with 51 points, while Katsina United moved to 6th with 44 points after recording a massive three points over Rangers International.
