West African Basketball Championship 2024, see Date, Participating Teams, Cash Prize, Venue & Others

By Emmanuel Oladele - The West African Basketball Championship organised by Louis Edem Foundation is an invitational Basketball Championship for 12 male teams across the West Africa.

The Championship will kick off from March 31st to April 6th 2024 and the venue is National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria.

Lagos venue was chosen to ease travel logistics for International Teams, and also showing concerns over security according to the organisers, "after considering travel logistics for our international teams, and concerns over security we have decided to host in Lagos."

Seven teams from Nigeria, Three from Benin Republic and two Ghanian Teams will be participating in the Championship. The teams are;

4. Lagos Legends - Nigeria

5. Kwara Falcons - Nigeria

6. Elan Coton - Benin Republic

7. ASPAC - Benin Republic 

8. Energie - Benin Republic

9. Comets - Nigeria

10. Hoops and Read - Nigeria

11. Braves of G.R.A. - Ghana

12. Police Baton - Nigeria

The winners of the Championship goes home with a whopping sum of five million naira.

The Championship is sponsored by Louis Edem Foundation and endorsed by Nigeria Basketball Federation, NBF.
