2023 U17 AFCON: Host Algeria beat Debutant Somalia in Tournament Opener

By Emmanuel Oladele - Host Algeria on Saturday beat Debutant Somalia by 2-0 in the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations opening game at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.

Algerian forward Moslem Anatouf scored twice to take advantage of the Somalians and to earn a vital win for his side in group A.

The win has put Algeria U-17 on top of Group A with three points, as Moslem Anatouf won the player of the match award.

Meanwhile, the second matchday 1 for group A will hold today Sunday between Senegal and Congo. Matches in Group B will also take place today. See details of today's fixtures below;
