By Emmanuel Oladele - Rivers United Players are now Millionaires following a whopping cash reward from River State Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike. The Portharcourt based team won the 2021/22 season title of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and Governor promised to reward the players with a sum of $20,000 each (around N9M).

The Statement reads as follows; "Governor Nyesom Wike redeems $20,000 pledge to each player and official of Rivers United for emerging champions of the 2021/2022 Nigeria Professional Football League."
