Remo Stars outshine Shooting Stars in Lagos - Pre-season Friendly

By Emmanuel Oladele - Remo Stars SC of Ikenne on Friday defeated Shooting Stars of Ibadan by 1-0 in a pre-season friendly game held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos as the Ogun State based team continue their preparations for the upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League 2022/23 Season which kicks off on January 7, 2023.

After a goalless 86 minutes, Edidiong Ezekiel got the only goal of the game from the spot for the Ogunmodede's led side in the 87th minute. Remo Stars were award a penalty following a push on Godwin Odibo by a 3SC player in his own area, Edidiong Ezekiel made no mistake in sending Shooting Stars goalkeeper Udo to the wrong direction to give the Ikenne based team the lead with three minutes to the end of regulation time.

Remo Stars dominated possessions in the game, but not able to create many goal scoring chances. Moreover, the few chances that were created were not well utilised, it was a friendly game and the manager is still working on making the team great before the kickoff to the new season, but so far, they have demonstrated that they will be one of the strongest when the season kicks off in January.

At the end of regulation time, it Remo Stars 1-0 Shooting Stars, so it ended at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on Friday in a pre-season friendly.
