2022 CAF Women's CL: Monday's Matchday 1 Results & Updated Group Standings

By Emmanuel Oladele - Two games were played on Monday in the ongoing 2022 CAF Women's Champions League in Morocco. In the first game of the day, defending Champions Mamelodi Sundowns defeated Nigerian side Bayelsa Queens by 2-1, Lelona Daweti's brace got the South African side to a winning start at the Grand Stade de Marrakech. Though the Prosperity Girls got a consolation via Mary Anjor's strike, but was not enough to turn the game around for the Nigerian Team.

In the second game of the day, TP Mazembe beat Egyptian side Wadi Degla by 1-0, Merveille Kanjinga scored the only goal of the encounter. See detailed Results below;

Mamelodi Sundowns' Lelona Daweti was named the Women of the Match in Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 win over Bayelsa Queens, while TP Mazembe's Richanelle Kiteko won the Woman of the Match in TP Mazembe 1-0 win over Wadi Degla.
