By Emmanuel Oladele - Rivers United Players are now Millionaires following a whopping cash reward from River State Governor Barrister Nyesom Wike. The Portharcourt based team won the 2021/22 season title of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and have been rewarded with a sum of $20,000 each (around N8.6M).
The Governor who was also present at the Trophy presentation ceremony on Sunday promised to reward each of the players with $40,000 (around N17.2M) if they get to the group stage of the next CAF Champions League.
