2022 WAFCON: Results of the Two Quarter-Final Games played on Thursday, Goalscorers and Others

By Emmanuel Oladele  - Two quarterfinal games of the ongoing 2022 Women Africa Cup of Nations were played on Thursday across two venues in Morocco. At the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, the Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon by 1-0. Super Falcons forward Rasheedat Ajibade scored the only goal. Nigeria are now through to the semi-final and also the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia/New Zealand. The Super Falcons will now play host Morocco in the semi-final on Monday. South Africa are through to the semi-final and the next FIFA Women's World Cup in Australia/New Zealand. The Banyana Banyana will now face Zambia in the Semifinal on Monday. Meanwhile, Losers of Thursday quarterfinals Cameroon and Tunisia will join Senegal and Botswana in Repechage Phase for a face off, they will be playing on Sunday 17th July. In the Repechage phase, the losers of the quarterfinals will face off, two winners will emerge and will advance to the inter-confederation playoffs, a world cup qualifier involving teams from other confederation.
