Coach Eguavoen Set to Invite Superstar Ahead of Italy and England

By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles will battle the Black Stars of Ghana and Coach Augustine Eguavoen is set to invite some new players for the important fixtures next month. Super Eagles Coach Augustine Eguavoen has penciled down the name of Scottish Rangers defender Calvin Bassey for the FIFA World Cup playoffs versus Black Stars of Ghana.

It must be recalled that the left back was given an invitation in October 2021 but was not capped by then Super Eagles gaffer Gernot Rohr.

According to owngoalnigeria.com, Coach Augustine Eguavoen is impressed by the exploits of Calvin Bassey especially in the UEFA Europa League which saw Rangers eliminates Borussia Dortmund by 6-4 aggregate scoreline. Born in Italy, Bassey was eligible to play for Italy, Nigeria or England at international level.
