Qatar 2022 WCQ Play-Off: CAF Stance on VAR

By Emmanuel Oladele - The Confederation of Africa Football, CAF, has revealed that Video Assistant Referee, VAR, will be used in Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Play-off.

CAF is expecting all 10 teams involved to install VAR facilities in their home ground, any team that failed to have the facilities would be forced to play their home game away from home, where the facility is installed.

Installation of VAR facilities should not be a problem for any of the 10 teams in the play-off because of their pedigrees in Africa Football. CAF could just be working to prevent the Scenario that happened in second round Matchday 6 game between Ghana and South Africa, where Ghana got a cheap penalty as alleged.
