UEFA Nominates Nigeria Star For First Ever Team of the Year

By Olamide Oyetunji - Nigeria female national team captain Asisat Oshoala has been selected as one of the biggest performers for the 2020 calendar year.

In a comprehensive list of nominees which was proposed by the UEFA editorial team before being validated by the Technical Observer panel.

On the basis of performances in UEFA competitions and domestic competitions within UEFA member associations saw Asisat Oshoala emerge as one of the top 50 in the women's category.

The Barcelona Femeni player won two domestic trophies in Catalonia and she also helped her team to the UEFA Women's Champions League semi finals where they lost to Olympique Lyon.

UEFA selected 50 male and 50 female players by which the final 22 will be determined by the votes of the millions of fans online.

It is the first time ever that UEFA will be having the team of the year for women.
