Nigeria Striker Scores 29th Goal in 30 League Games in Spain

By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Falcons skipper Asisat Oshoala has continued her impressive run of scoring goals with fun in the Spanish top flight.

Asisat Oshoala was in the book for the right reason as Barcelona Femeni maintained an impressive start to the season.

The Nigerian golden girl scored her second goal of the season as the Catalan giants put up a dominating display against the Real Betis Ladies.

Oshoala scored one of the goals in a 5-0 thumping in Saturday’s Spanish Primera Iberdrola encounter held inside Ciudad Deportiva Luis de Sol.

After a comfortable 6-0 victory over Sporting Huelva last week, they continued to maintain their flying start making it four wins out of four games of the season.

As overwhelming favourite and as the defending champions of the Primera Iberdrola, Lluís Cortés’ side was clinical with goals from Caroline Graham Hansen, Aitana Bonmati, Asisat Oshoala, Jenna McCormick’s own goal and Jenni Hermoso.

Asisat Oshoala played for 70 minutes before Vicky Losada replaced but she added to her tally for the season with two goals in four while Barcelona are also experiencing one hundred percent record.

The former FC Robo, Arsenal and Liverpool striker is the current African Female Player of the year and she was also the second highest top scorer in the league last term.
