Super Eagles Coach Invites Akpeyi, Etebo and Three Others For AFCON Qualifiers

By Olamide Oyetunji - Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr is on the verge of announcing the Nigeria male national team squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in scheduled for two venues.

Nigeria will hope to scale through to the Africa Cup of Nations edition of 2020 if they could secure six points in November against their Western African neighbours.

The Head Coach of the team Gernot Rohr has penciled down five returnees to the team for the fixtures with Scottish Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo topping the list.

Two goalkeepers will make their return to the team after omission from the friendlies with Algeria and Tunisia in Austria and are expected to compete with Maduka Okoye.

Kaizer Chiefs goalie Daniel Akpeyi is back in action in the South African DSTV Premiership while Francis Uzoho will also be kitted in green and white since the injury he sustained against Brazil in 2019.

Former Warri Wolves star Oghenekaro Etebo is also in the circulation first publicated by owngoalnigeria.com while Victor Osimhen completes the five additions from the last squad.

The Super Eagles will host Sierra Leone in Benin City on the 13th day of November before travelling to Freetown on the 17th of November for the return leg.
