By Emmanuel Oladele - Nigeria Professional Football League side Rivers United have completed the signing of Enyimba duo Theophilus Afelokhai and Ifeanyi Anaemena.
The duo were in superlative form in previous seasons and have shown themselves to be one of the best goalkeepers and defenders in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).
It was rumoured days ago that Rivers United have offered N1.2m as monthly salary to Theophilus Afelokhai who was Enyimba first choice goalkeeper, the latest update shows that the rumour could be true.
Theophilus Afelokhai and Ifeanyi Anaemena will bring so much stability into Rivers United starting eleven in the upcoming 2020/2021 season.
Theophilus Afelokhai was part of the Home-based Super Eagles to CHAN 2018 in Morocco where Nigeria lost by 4-0 to the host in the final.
On the other hand Ifeanyi Anaemena received his maiden call-up to the Nigeria Super Eagles in November 2019 for Benin clash, he took the place of Russia-based left-back Bryan Idowu who withdrew from the game.
