By Oladele Emmanuel - Andres Escobar is a Colombian Footballer who played as a defender, many will remember him for 'own goal'. The Colombia committed an unfortunate error (scored an own goal) in Colombia World Cup Game in 1994 which led to their elimination.
The sad thing about him is that he was murder after the game in Colombia on July 2nd 1994 and many believed that the own goal he scored was the reason why he was murdered, maybe by drug traffickers who bet on the team and have lost their money.
The unfortunate error that Escoba made can be committed by anyone even the best defender, but it's sad that he was killed.
