The FIFA Women's World Cup in 1999 was held in USA and 16 teams participated in the tournament as Nigeria Super Falcons were knocked out in the quarter-final. After a 3-3 draw in the normal time, Brazil edged Nigeria with golden goal rule, Sissi 104 minutes strike was enough to send the South Americans to the Semifinal.
