Nigeria female U-17 team beats male team in friendly

The Nigeria U-17 female National team started their race to the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup on a victorious note after edging an Academy in Abuja on Friday morning.

The Flamingoes who are in large numbers based on official invitation put gender aside to test their might against one of the most respected Football academy in the country with professionalism their watchword.

According to a match update posted by the team's media officer Faith Oluchi immediately after the match, Nigeria defeated Mees Palace Football Academy by a narrow 3-2 on the FIFA goal project pitch which is also known as the package B of the MKO Abiola National stadium.

Nigeria will face Guinea in a double legged tie in March for a place at the 2020 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India.
