CAF Confederation Cup: RANGERS SUFFER AWAY LOSS IN LOME

Rangers International football club of Enugu yesterday at the Stade de Kégué Lome, the Togolese National Team stadium suffered a 2 -1 away loss to her host ASC Kara in first leg of final qualifying to group stage of Total/CAF Confederation Cup 2019/2020.

The match which started 5pm local time had a Senegalese Referee at the center to determine the faith of both teams.
Rangers sustained the host till about 29th minutes when the host scored her first goal courtesy of Mani Sapool. Rangers followed suit and equalled the goal line following a penalty awarded when Nnamdi Egbujuo was brought down in their 18 yard box. Ifeanyi George quickly converted it into the net in 32 minutes.

Rangers sustained the host pressure till end of first half and subsequently in second half till 90 minutes when 4 minutes added time was signaled by the 4th official. ASC Karaat 91st minutes located the Rangers net again by Nane Pakidami, making it two goals against one thereby winning their home match when Rangers thought they had escaped with a draw.

Second leg of the match is at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu on Sunday 3rd November, 2019 by 4pm. Result of the second leg determines who qualifies to the group stage known as the money spinning stage.
