Chelsea beat Brighton in their nine consecutive league meetings

Chelsea on Saturday afternoon put two past Brighton to claim the third victory of the season in the English Premier League and recorded the 9th consecutive league victory over the visitors. Goals from Jorginho and Willian made the difference for the Blues at the Stamford Bridge.

After a goalless first half, Chelsea got on the score sheet in the 50th minute via Jorginho spot kick. Adam Webster brought down Mason Mount in his own 18-yard-box, leaving the referee to point at the penalty spot.

Few minutes later, Callum Hudson-Odoi replaced Pedro in the 63rd minute and quickly made his own impact as he assisted Willian's goal in the 76th minute following a superb move from the left wing before connecting the Brazilian who was on the move from the right wing.

Chelsea have now won all their nine league meetings with Brighton and kept a clean sheet for the first time under the new manager, Frank Lampard. Today's game also earned the manager the first home victory.

The Blues have played seven English Premier League games this season, winning three, drawing two and losing two.

After 90 minutes, it Chelsea 2-0 Brighton, so it ended at the Stamford Bridge in London.
