Chukwueze propels Villarreal to a vital victory

Lone goal from Nigeria International Samuel Chukwueze against Girona has raised Villarreal's hope of escaping relegation, the Yellow Submarine defeated Girona by 1-0 on Sunday evening.

A counterattack from Xavi Calleja led side produced a fine through pass from Pablo Fornals to Samuel Chukwueze who placed the ball past Girona Goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in the 7th minute of the thrilling encounter to end the first 1-0 in favour of the visitors.

The second half witnessed both team displaying some attacking flair but Girona was unable to get an equaliser after several shots on target as Villarreal were able to defend their 1-0 lead until the end of the 90th minute.
The Yellow Submarine have now moved to 15th position on the La Liga log with with 33 points and are almost escaping relegation after the vital 1-0 win over Girona.

After the entire game duration, it Girona 0-1 Villarreal, so it ended at the Montilivi Stadium.
