Government Sponsorship not the best for our Nigeria Football Clubs

The shame that recently covers the face of Nigeria Football is a call to all football clubs in Nigeria to search for an independent sponsors rather than waiting for the government before going about their normal activities.

On Friday 31th of August, 2018, the outcome of LMC/Club Owners meeting presented Lobi Stars as the Champion of the 2017/2018 NPFL League Season.
Nigfooty.com gathered that one of the reasons why the Nigeria Professional Football League can't continue is due to inability of the some clubs to afford flight tickets to match venues, as the government who has been financing this clubs are focusing on 2019 general election.

This is a signal to all Nigerian Clubs that there is no future for clubs that relies on the government to meet their financial needs, now is the time to seek for independent sponsors/owners who can actually finance every departments of the team without government interference.

Government interference in Football matters has not been helping Nigeria football as expected, so it is time for Nigeria football clubs to move beyond government financing and do the needful.

It is sad that Lobi Star has been crowned the League Champion having played 24 games with 14 games left, what a way to decide a league winner. The league had already gone on break 11 days to Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup with a plan to resume on July 18 but the NFF crisis between Amaju Pinnick and Cris Giwa thwarted the already made plan until yesterday meeting declared an emergency winner.

Nigeria Football Clubs which way forward?
