Iwobi Goon Down Zambia, Fly Nigeria To Russia 2018

Arsenal youngster, Alexander Iwobi was the hero as Super Eagles pick up a World Cup ticket in Uyo on Saturday following a slim 1-0 victory over the elastic Chipolopolo of Zambia.

Nigeria knowing that a victory will seal a sixth world cup appearance struggled for most part of the game against a pacy and young Zambian team.

Coach Gernot Rohr made a change by replacing Moses Simon with Alexander Iwobi with just about 20 minutes to go and he completely changed the game and got the winner in the 73rd minute finishing an Abdullahi Shehu's cross from close range to send the crowd into eruption.

Nigeria joins other nations who has qualified for the Mundial and also becomes the first team in Africa to do so.

Elsewhere,Cameroon defeated Algeria 2-0 in Yaounde in a match tagged a friendly by many.
Algeria will host the Super Eagles in the final round of matches while Zambia will welcome Cameroon come November.
