Watford 2-3 Bristol City,Isaac Success Assist Too Little

Watford were the only Premier League casualty in the Carabao Cup following Tuesday’s Round 2 fixtures across England.

The Hornets slumped to a shock 2-3 defeat at home against Bristol City to exit the competition at only the first hurdle, with the top-flight teams having entered the tournament at the second round.

Watford came close to leveling matters when Success crosses for Richarlison, whose header strikes the woodwork on 69th minute but things got from bad to worse when Holebas was shown a second yellow card for a trip as City threatened to break away with two minutes left.

Bristol City put the match to bed when Eliasson controls and slots past Gomes to add a another in the third minute of stoppage time but Mariappa heads one back for the Hornets with the last attack of the match.
