Caf Champions League : Mamelodi, Esperance through to last eight

Kings of Africa Mamelodi Sundowns have reached the Champions League quarter-finals after edging St George 1-0 in their penultimate Group C match in Ethiopia on Saturday.
In a gritty tie on a bumpy pitch, Sundowns goalkeeper Denis Onyango notably saved a penalty on the stroke of half-time following a handball in the box by Anele Ngcongca.
Anthony Laffor sniped the spoils from close range in the 85th minute at Addis Ababa Stadium. AS Vita Club of DRC lost the ticket to the final eight when they drew 2-2 at home against Esperance de Tunis.
"We prevented Vita from touching the ball" said the Esperance coach at the post-Game Conference,he added that he is satisfied with the result.

Congo DR head coach who doubled as manager for AS Vita Club Florent Ibenge said in the beginning the chances are slim.

"After three matchdays and zero point, we had already lost our destiny in hand, but we tried to catch up, but fellas it was not going to happen." But the Coach hail the supporters: "we recognize good friends in difficult times, today AS Vita Club is out, but the fans encouraged us. - As a reminder, AS Vita club will play its last day on 08 July in Pretoria against #mamelodi
