October 9th, 2016 was the date and 1:30pm Nigerian time (2:30pm in Ndola) was the time when Nigeria's New Generation Super Eagles were to begin the journey to Russia 2018 in possibly the toughest group in African football history as regards World cup Qualifying.

The first test? Zambia's Chipolopolo currently managed by Wedson Nyirenda and the battleground was The Levy Nwanawasa Stadium in Ndola. A ground where the Zambians have never lost a game since the stadium was opened in 2012.

Let's take a little background walk, shall we?

The first Golden Era of Nigerian Football lasted primarily throughout the 1990s and even overlapped into the early 2000s. Now out of Nigeria's Darkest hours having missed three Afcon qualification tickets in the last five years, rises another generation of Super Young players who can comfortably hold their own as some of the finest young starlets in the world.

A fine group of already capped and uncapped Super talents rises so strongly to give Nigerian soccer fans, enthusiasts and followers of the beautiful game reasons to look forward to the future in super excitement and with glee.

USA 1994, Atlanta 1996,  and Tunisia 1994 were Nigeria's finest moments team-wise in that First Golden Era accompanied by the individual accomplishments of the major actors like KANU, Yekini, Okocha, Finidi George, Amuneke, Amokachi, Ikpeba, Oliseh, Rufai, Keshi, And many more.....
