FIFA President Gianni Infantino Congratulates Newly Elected FAZ President Keith Mweemb

FIFA President Gianni Infantino has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Keith Mweemba following his recent election as the President of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ). In a letter dated May 11, 2025, Infantino expressed confidence in Mweemba's leadership and pledged FIFA’s unwavering support towards the development of football in Zambia.

“Please accept my warmest greetings and sincerest congratulations for your recent election as President of the Football Association of Zambia,” Infantino wrote. He further highlighted Mweemba's knowledge, passion, and experience, affirming that these qualities would play a crucial role in advancing the growth of football in the nation.

Infantino also emphasized his belief in the potential of Zambian football and assured Mweemba of both his personal support and FIFA's commitment to achieving that vision. He added, “The doors of FIFA are always open if you wish to discuss our sport, its development, and the promotion of its values.”

The FIFA President also extended his felicitations to the newly elected Vice-President, Mutale Ng'andu, and the members of the FAZ Executive Committee. He wished them success in their mission to build a lasting legacy for football in Zambia.

Mweemba was elected as FAZ President last Friday during the reconvened elective AGM held in Kabwe, while Ng'andu was elected as Vice-President. The new leadership is expected to drive initiatives aimed at boosting football development across the country, with the support of global football's governing body.

The election marks the beginning of a new chapter for Zambian football, with Mweemba at the helm to steer the association toward greater accomplishments.
